Happy New Year from everyone in Rocheport, Missouri! 2018 was a big year for our little town. We had our biggest Wine Stroll yet. Rocheport was named one of the Top Ten Tiny Towns by Southern Living Magazine. Meriwether Cafe was named Best New Restaurant by Feast Magazine. All the while, the community of Rocheport seemingly continues to grow more tightly knit with each passing year.
All of us are looking to the future with the same plucky optimism that has been characteristic of this town, for decades. We catch up with one another at local’s night. We head to the General Store for live music on the weekends. We chat it up with Trevor down at the Post Office and we take time to visit with one another when we run into each other on the trail.
Rocheport steps into 2019 as an ever-evolving small town that makes a point to retain the historic fabric woven into our identity. If it has been a while since you’ve visited, take an opportunity to slow things down and come visit John and Margaret at Manitou Studio. Or getaway with your loved one to stay at one of our many amazing Bed and Breakfasts. You could also have a delectable meal at Abigail’s. Those of us who live here know that this little slice of Heaven known as Rocheport is something special. It seems that the secret is out, but we don’t mind.
In fact, nothing makes me happier than to see families walking through town and experiencing it for themselves. One thing is certain, I’ve never seen folks walk through Rocheport with a grimace on their face. The same carefree smile that adorns Rocheportian’s faces can be found on those who visit our city.
Rocheport truly is a state of mind...
